CHAPTER ONE

The Journey Begins

The story of Good News Ministries traces back to the 1980s, born from a profound moment when Pastor Solomon Brian Mwesige first sensed God’s call to service. Recognizing that true ministry is a lifelong commitment rather than a brief endeavor, he chose to surrender fully to this divine purpose.

Since its official founding in 1987, the journey has been one of resilience. The ministry has navigated seasons of testing and “melting experiences,” ultimately emerging refined—much like gold—through steadfast faith and divine guidance.

CHAPTER TWO

A Legacy Of Impact

From its headquarters in Bulenga (located 8 miles along the Kampala–Mityana highway), Good News Ministries has expanded its reach across every region of Uganda and into Kenya, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The ministry’s impact is defined by a holistic approach to the Gospel, addressing both spiritual and physical needs:

  • Church Planting & Leadership: Establishing local churches and mentoring leaders who now impact lives globally.

  • International Outreach: Ministering across Africa, Europe, and the United States.

  • Social Transformation: Feeding the hungry, clothing the needy, providing medical care, and securing education for the next generation.

At the heart of Pastor Solomon’s life is his dedicated family. In 2002, he married Mrs. Doreen Mwesige, and together they have been blessed with five children: Priscilla, Divine, Melissa, Shana, and Shasha Mwesige. MOVING FORWARD

Call to Partnership

No matter how gifted or anointed an individual may be, true potential is unlocked only through the help of others. Pastor Solomon firmly believes that we are all gifted differently to complement and enhance one another’s strengths.

The continued success of this ministry is a direct result of the grace of God and the unwavering faithfulness of its supporters. We invite those not yet involved to consider partnering with us. It is through these vital connections that God-given dreams gain the power to change the world.
